Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney
November 29, 2012
The setting of the game is an original world looking like medieval Europe, where the four main characters are magically transported trough a portal, so the game doesn't feature many other characters or places from previous episodes of the two series, however appearances of Layton's room, as well as Inspector Chelmey and Barton from the Layton series have been confirmed. The canonicity of this story to the universes of the two games is unknown.
The gameplay of the game is a blend of the gameplay from the two series, with the player having to solve puzzles while controlling Professor Layton, and having to partecipate in court trials while controlling Phoenix Wright. An interesting note is that the game features full voice acting, like in every Professor Layton game, but for the first time in the Ace Attorney series. Wright and Maya are voiced respectively by Hiroki Narimiya and Mirei Kiritani, who portrayed them in the live action movie based on the game.
Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney was created by the collaboration between Capcom and Level-5, the two companies holding the copyrights of the respective series.
