This page explains in detail the interactions between the Animal Crossing series and the Kirby series.
Animal Crossing-e Series 3[]
March 2003
Card D09 in the third series of Animal Crossing e-reader cards features a design based on Kirby. Scanning it unlocks the design for the player's house in the game.
Kirby: Planet Robobot[]
April 28, 2016
This game features amiibo compatibility: scanning a compatible figure gives Kirby a specific power based on the character, however these are all regular Kirby transformations available in the game, so the connection is only thematic.
Scanning any Animal Crossing amiibo will give Kirby the Leaf ability, referencing the forest themes of the series. This includes all the figures as well as the amiibo cards, since they're simply identified by series. The same effect is obtained by scanning the Villager amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series, but his figure is actually identified by name.
