A Isaac Clarke

Dead Space is a sci-fi horror series by EA and Visceral Games, originating as a series of videogames, but also spanning over other media as well.

Set in the 26th century, the plot mainly follows a man named Isaac Clarke and shows the horrors he encounters.

Video Games

Three main, numbered games were released, plus three minor games, for a total of six games:

  • Dead Space (October 13, 2008), PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC.
  • Dead Space: Extraction (September 24, 2009), Wii. Also released in 2011 for PlayStation 3. A prequel to the original game.
  • Dead Space Ignition (October 12, 2010), PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade. A prologue to Dead Space 2.
  • Dead Space 2 (January 25, 2011), PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC. Many downloadable contents were released for the game, including the pack Dead Space 2: Severed, released on March 1, 2011, expanding the game's plot.
  • Dead Space (January 25, 2011), mobile phone. Set between Dead Space and Dead Space 2.
  • Dead Space 3 (February 5, 2013), PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC. Downloadable contents were released, including the pack Dead Space 3: Awakened on March 12, 2013.


Two animated movies were released:

  • Dead Space: Downfall (October 28, 2008), taking place during the events of Dead Space: Extraction.
  • Dead Space: Aftermath (January 25, 2011), set directly after the original Dead Space.

Additionally there are plans to produce a live action movie based on the franchise.


A comic series, two novels and two graphic novels were released in the franchise:

  • Dead Space (March - August 2008). A six-issue comic book serving as a prequel to the original game. Also released in animated form to download via Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, and also unlockable in Dead Space: Extraction.
  • Dead Space: Martyr (July 20, 2010). A novel serving as a prequel to the franchise.
  • Dead Space: Salvage (November 24, 2010). A graphic novel set between the events of Dead Space and Dead Space: Aftermath.
  • Dead Space: Catalyst (October 2, 2012). A novel, sequel to Dead Space: Martyr.
  • Dead Space: Liberation (February 5, 2013). A novel serving a prologue to Dead Space 3.


Some action figures based on Isaac Clarke were created to promote the games.
