In the fifth episode of the game a game called "Lady Crate Ape" is first mentioned in a newsletter on Strong Bad's computer. Later the real world is merged with the video game world, and Marzipan, who was previously helping Bubs fix his Concession Stand, thinks she is Lady Crate Ape. She kidnaps Bubs and goes to the top of the stand, then stomping causing the scaffolding around the stand to collapse and begins throwing crates around. This is an obvious spoof of Donkey Kong.

Telltale Games, that created Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People didn't hold any right over Nintendo's Donkey Kong, but they only included a minor reference to the game.
