Duck Hunt costume

One of the unlockable costumes that Mario can wear in the game by using a Mystery Mushroom is based on the dog and duck from Duck Hunt, and it's unlocked in the 100 Mario Challenge mode or alternatively by using the Duck Hunt amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series. While the costume is based on the characters' appearances from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and for Wii U, when worn it replaces the sound effects with sounds from Duck Hunt.

License

Rights for both the Mario and the Duck Hunt series are held by Nintendo. Rights for the Running Stadium series are held by Bandai, but they licensed it to Nintendo to produce the NES version of the game; they apparently extended this license to make a three game cartdrige.
