Nintendogs
All three versions of Nintendogs feature some items based on the Mario series. The object descriptions also refer to the Mario series. These items are:

Nintendogs
The second game in the Nintendogs series, Nintendogs + Cats, still includes some items referencing the Mario series. The returning items are Mario and Peach's Kart, while Bowser's Kart is replaced by Yoshi's, and the Green Hat, only renamed Luigi's Hat. Oddly Mario's Red Hat doesn't return as a usable item, but it can be worn by dogs through AR Cards (see below). Also the Rubber Mushroom was redesigned, so it might not be considered referencing the Mario series any more. All the Mario items are:
