This page explains in detail the interactions between the Super Smash Bros. series and the Wrecking Crew series. Note that Wrecking Crew is often considered part of the Mario series, in the Super Smash Bros. series. For more details see Mario X Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. Wrecking Crew
While no element from the Wrecking Crew series is featured directly in Super Smash Bros. Mario's 3P costume is called "Blackie Colors: Wrecking Crew FC" and is based on Foreman Spike, known as Blackie in Japan, while Luigi's 4P costume, called Strawberry Luigi, is based on his own appearance in Wrecking Crew.
Super Smash Bros. Melee[]

Super Smash Bros. Wrecking Crew
Super Smash Bros. Melee still doesn't feature any Wrecking Crew element directly, but it features a Wrecking Crew trophy, listed in the unrepresented series (as a side note this implies that Wrecking Crew is not considered part of the Mario series in Melee):
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Super Smash Bros. Wrecking Crew
Super Smash Bros. Brawl features an actual item from Wrecking Crew, coming with its trophy and its own music. These are:
Golden Hammer[]
An item that in the original Wrecking Crew was a very rare, but more powerful version of the regular hammer. Here it's role is the same, being a rare and much more powerful version of the Hammer, but due to the regular Hammer being based on Donkey Kong, also the Golden Hammer in this game works like the hammers from Donkey Kong. While using the Golden Hammer characters are also able to float in the air for a short period.
Sometimes the Golden Hammer will be the undistinguishable Squeaky Golden Hammer, a totally harmless version of it, much like the Headless Hammer is to the Hammer, but even the squeaky version grants the floating ability.
Trophy[]
The only Wrecking Crew Trophy is the Golden Hammer trophy, and it's listed in the items section.
Music tracks[]
The only music track taken from the Wrecking Crew series is:
- Power-Up Music - Taken directly from Wrecking Crew, just like in the original game it plays when a character picks up the Golden Hammer.
Additionally the Famicom Medley track, a medley of many Famicom/NES songs, includes the Bonus Round theme from Wrecking Crew.
Other reference[]
Wario’s Brown Overall costume resembles Foreman Spike, another rival of Mario.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and for Wii U[]

Super Smash Bros. Wrecking Crew
Golden Hammer[]
The Golden Hammer returns Brawl mostly unchanged. However, Golden Squeaky Hammers that are dropped can be recaught and have a chance of turning into regular ones.
Wrecking Crew[]
The stage based on Wrecking Crew is a playable stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. All of the tracks played are from retro Nintendo games.
Wrecking Crew is very large vertically with scattered climbable ladders throughout Wrecking Crew, which allow easy vertical scaling of the stage. The stage has a main platform that is solid and continues to the lower blast line, with up to 4 rows of drop-through platforms above it connected by the ladders with stone buildings in the background. Barrels appear on various areas throughout the stage, which act like walls. Occasionally, bombs the size of most characters will spawn on small green pedestals set throughout the stage, which can explode if attacked. When a bomb explodes, nearby stone buildings will collapse and nearby barrels will be destroyed. Bombs can even cause other bombs to explode, causing a chain reaction. If a row of platforms has less than three stone buildings to support it, the row will fall down. New ones will fall in from the top of the screen. As in the original Wrecking Crew, players can get trapped under barrels that come down with the row, preventing them from moving for a while and giving other players an attacking advantage. When broken out of a barrel, the opponent will receive double the normal damage from the attack that broke them out. Oddly, the normal amount of damage will be shown on the damage and combo counter in training mode, despite it usually adjusting for damage multipliers.
Trophy[]
There is a trophy based on the Golden Hammer.
Masterpiece[]
Wrecking Crew is a playable Masterpiece in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and it's available from the start. It once again is based on the original arcade game and starts at the title section. The time duration is two minutes.
Music tracks[]
The Wii U version also includes two new tracks from Wrecking Crew, both used in the Wrecking Crew stage:
- Wrecking Crew Medley: a medley of various themes from Wrecking Crew.
- Wrecking Crew Retro Medley: a medley of various themes taken directly from Wrecking Crew. It also plays in the 3DS version.
- Power-Up Music - Wrecking Crew: Taken directly from Wrecking Crew, just like in the original game it plays when a character picks up the Golden Hammer. It returns from Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
This game includes all characters, most items, and most stages from previous games, so the Golden Hammer returns, and so does the Wrecking Crew stage from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, retaining each respective reference to Wrecking Crew. It only received minor changes, most notably platforms will turn orange if a ladder is connected to them.
The game also adds the option to turn off stage hazards; this removes bombs and barrels from the Wrecking Crew stage.
Also, because of the possibility to customize music selection for each stage, Wrecking Crew can now be set to play any of the 106 music tracks in the "Others" category, but it's set to the Balloon Fight music by default.
Eggplant Man spirit[]
Eggplant Man appears as spirit #115, listed among the spirits from Mario series and he's represented as an artwork from the game. He's a Primary spirit classified in the Shield type and the Novice category (★). He has one support slot without any additional effects.
The spirit is unlocked by beating the respective Spirit Battle in Spirit Board, which is an augmented fight meant to represent a fight against the character, and is explained in Adventure Mode's introduction to be a battle against a Puppet Fighter animated by the spirit.
It is also available for purchase in the in-game shop for 500G.
Its augmented fight is in the Battlefield form of the Wrecking Crew stage against six Warios in their Purple outfit with the Golden Hammer as the item used. The background music is Wrecking Crew Medley.
Music tracks[]
All three Wrecking Crew tracks from the previous game return in Ultimate alongside a new one, and all four are available from the start.
- Wrecking Crew Medley: A medley of the "BGM A" and "Power-Up" themes from the NES game Wrecking Crew. It has a jazzy, brass-based style with heavy percussion, a piano, and an upright bass.
- Wrecking Crew Medley (for 3DS / Wii U): A medley of the "Game Start", "BGM A", "Bonus Round", and "Power-Up" themes from Wrecking Crew. Compared to the Ultimate medley, this track starts with a similar jazz style, but incorporates more electronic elements, including synth leads and a wobble bass. It returns from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
- Wrecking Crew Retro Medley: a medley of the "Game Start", "BGM A", "Round Clear", "Bonus Round", "Power-Up", and "Game Over". It returns from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
- Power-Up Music - Wrecking Crew: Taken directly from Wrecking Crew, just like in the original game it plays when a character picks up the Golden Hammer, returning from Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
These are all available from the start and listed in the "Others" category, so they can be set to be play on any stage from minor Nintendo series beside Balloon Fight, including Summit, Wrecking Crew, and Duck Hunt, which included these tracks in previous games, but also PictoChat 2, Living Room, Find Mii, Tomodachi Life, Pilotwings, and Wuhu Island. Update to Ver. 8.1.0 on August 4, 2020 allowed any of these tracks to be played on Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Big Battlefield, and Final Destination stages.
