This page explains in detail the interactions between the Wario series and the Wrecking Crew series.

Note that to some consider the character Wario to be based on Foreman Spike from Wrecking Crew, but Wario is originally a Mario character. (see Mario X Wrecking Crew)

One of 9-Volt and 18-Volt's microgames is based on Wrecking Crew. The objective is to have Mario get all the Eggplant Men away from him by hitting Bombs with his Hammer, thereby destroying the ladders, and there are more Eggplant Men. The view begins at the side (like the original game), but quickly changes to a top-down one. If Mario gets hit by an Eggplant Man, he will fall off-screen and the player will lose the microgame. Level 1 features only one enemy, Level 2 features two enemies and Level 3 features four enemies, but some of them won't attack.

Additionally, the Wrecking Crew theme is one of the unlockable Records in the game.

One of 18-Volt's microgames is called "Wreck. Crew" and is based on Wrecking Crew. It features two Gotcha Wrenches moving in a generic level from the game, and at a certain point climbing down destroyable ladders. The player must defeat the enemies by clicking on the ladders to wreck them. The microgame is lost if the enemies
