Lilo & Stitch is a multimedia franchise created by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois and owned by Disney.
The original 2002 film itself is notable for its crossover-based marketing campaign held prior to its release that emphasized Stitch as being a black sheep in the Disney family, including four "Inter-STITCH-al" teaser trailers in which Stitch crashes iconic scenes from the big four Disney Renaissance films (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King) and the original theatrical release poster showing various characters from Disney's animated films.
