The game features two Nintendo-themed set of puzzles, featuring sprites from various Nintendo games, including Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3.

Apart from the Nintendo categories, there's a puzzle shaped like Mario's head in the Murals 1 category. Specifically, it's puzzle n. 43 and is based on the extra life sprite from Mario Bros.

Pushmo's sequel doesn't feature a Nintendo set of puzzles, but there are two puzzles based on sprites from Super Mario Bros.: Buzzy Beetle and Piranha Plant. Both sprites were already used as puzzles in the previous game, but due to the sequel's different gameplay, they are solved differently.
