In "Modern" Vermin the Player controls Yoshi, who must squish enemies who are trying to attack six eggs. The enemies consist of Fly Guys, Koopa Paratroopas and Boos. Like in their original appearances, Boos don't move if looked at by the player's character. At 200, 500 and 300 points four Monty Mole appear and one of them leaves a 1-Up Heart, that restores a damage to each egg if picked by Yoshi. Each 200 points, if the player has any unbroken egg, they will hatch revealing an item inside and giving 5 extra points each.
