Marvel vs. Capcom is a fighting videogame series by Capcom and Marvel, featuring characters from various Marvel and Capcom series (as well as original characters like Amingo, SonSon, and Ruby Heart), thus serving as a crossover between them.

Video Games

The series officially started with the Marvel/Capcom crossovers X-Men vs. Street Fighter (1996) and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter (1997), in here however both entries are considered crossover games forming part of the X-Men/Marvel Super Heroes (Capcom) and Street Fighter series instead, and only games titled "Marvel vs. Capcom" are considered part of this series. They are:

  • Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes (January 12, 1998). Arcade. Later released on PlayStation and Dreamcast.
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes (February 2000). Arcade. Later released on Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Xbox and iOS. An HD update was available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 via PlayStation Network and Xbox Live respectively, but it has since been delisted.
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (February 15, 2011). PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (November 15, 2011). PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360.
  • Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite (2017)

Compilations

  • Marvel vs. Capcom Origins (September 25, 2012). PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A digital compilation including Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes and Capcom's Marvel Super Heroes.

Comic Books

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. A 12 pages prologue comic book included with the game's Special Edition, written by Marvel writer Frank Tieri.
