The original Nintendo 64 Animal Crossing game included seven Famicom games, obtainable as items in various random ways, such as Tom Nook's Monthly Raffle, Crazy Redd's, as present from a neighbor, treasure hunts, birthday presents, etc.

The GameCube version of the game added a new game obtainable randomly, plus 2 more only obtainabe on "the Island", accessed by connecting the Game Boy Advance to the GameCube. The game's code also features 9 more normally unavailable games, though 6 of them were released through Nintendo's giveaways and one more was given to players that used a service to transfer datas from the Nintendo 64 game to the GameCube game. The remaining three are unavailable. So, the featured games are (with new games in bold):

The western adaptation of Dobutsu no Mori+ includes the same number of games as the Japanese game, however Gomoku Narabe Renju was replaced by ExciteBike, Mahjong was replaced by Soccer and the Famicom Disk System version of The Legend of Zelda was replaced by its NES version (thoguh it remained unavailable). This time Super Mario Bros. was not made available through giveaway, though two of the games unreleased in Dobutsu no Mori+ were made available as e-Reader cards. The finally included games are:

The Japanese version, Dobutsu no Mori e+, features the same exact games, though the two e-Reader games and the two unobtainable ones were removed, since were left unused.
