Merchandise[]
A set of action figures based on the starting eight fighters from the first Super Smash Bros. game were in production, but these were cancelled. They were to be packaged in sets of two characters with a boxing ring.
A series of amiibo figures based on all 58 playable characters from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and for Nintendo 3DS were released in various waves between November 21st, 2014 and July 21st, 2017. Four of these came as two separate versions (R.O.B., Cloud, Bayonetta, Corrin), for a total of 62 different figures. The Mr. Game and Watch amiibo, while receiving one single release, includes four different swappable poses for the character. A Gold Edition of the Mega Man amiibo was released on February 23rd, 2016, bundled with the Collector's Edition of Mega Man Legacy Collection for the Nintendo 3DS.
A second series of amiibo based on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate were released in various waves from December 7th, 2018 to February 16th, 2024, consisting of 32 figures for all the newcomers and returning veterans not featured in for Wii U/for 3DS. Links to Other Series[]
Note: Characters, places, items and helpers such as Pokémon and Assist Trophies appearing in the series create an in-universe link because they directly interact with the games' universe; trophies and stickers create a sub-universe link because their series are supposed to only exist as fiction within the games' universe; music tracks create an out-universe link, because the game's music is supposed to only be heard by the player and doesn't actually appear in the games' universe.
Spirits appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate create an in-universe link because they are said to be real characters that were turned into spirits. However, since they're only represented as artwork ingame, they count as arguable links.
Mascot Link: Miis are playable characters and enemies in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, for Wii U, and Ultimate.
Mascot Link: Diskun appears as a spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He also appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
