King Kong crossed over with Doc Savage in the novel Doc Savage: Skull Island. Kong also crossed over with Tarzan in the novel King Kong vs Tarzan. Tarzan is technically a public domain character, but the novel was published under the Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. licence. --Crossover Fan001 (talk) 02:27, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

This public domain stuff always gets confusing, as there's so many characters that end up in a weird gray area where they're kinda public domain but kinda not. As far as I can tell though, the characters of Doc Savage and Tarzan are now both pretty much public domain for all intents and purposes, so I don't think these works really count for the Wiki. Could be wrong though. LoganielSomething (talk) 03:47, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

The first Doc Savage novel came out in 1933 so it should still be under copyright in America. Every Tarzan novel from 1912-1924 is in the public domain, while every novel from 1927-present is under copyright. The King Kong vs Tarzan novel may or may not have copyrighted Tarzan characters in it, I haven't read it. --Crossover Fan001 (talk) 04:01, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
